Queensland Health

Queensland Health aims to provide safe, sustainable, efficient, quality and locally responsive health services for all Queenslanders.

Across the Department of Health and 17 Hospital and Health Services, Queensland Health delivers a range of integrated services, including:

  • hospital inpatient and emergency services
  • primary healthcare in community health settings and population health units
  • chronic disease management in hospitals and community health centres
  • acute community and mental health services
  • aged care services and public health
  • health promotion programs.

All Queensland Hospital and Health Services are implementing improvements to establish Queensland as the leader in Australian healthcare. To do this, our Blueprint for better healthcare in Queensland focuses on 4 principal themes:

  1. Health services focused on patients and people.
  2. Empowering the community and our health workforce.
  3. Providing Queenslanders with value in health services.
  4. Investing, innovating and planning for the future.
