BIS Industries

Bis has always identified strategic opportunities to grow and develop the services we offer our resources clients. In 1997, we purchased Shell Coal’s longwall relocation equipment which enabled us to expand into specialised underground coal mining equipment hire.

As an innovator, Bis has harnessed new technology and machinery. In 2005, Bis introduced the Dual Powered Road Train to the Australian mining industry revolutionising hauling operations.

Since the late nineties, our company has been forging ahead with the delivery of underground services and specialised equipment and in 2007 we expanded our operations with the acquisition of Allied Plant Services and Fieldwicks. Three years later (2010) Bis extended its off-road load and haul capabilities by purchasing the Gulf Group.

By 2013, Bis was looking beyond the horizon to new opportunities in Indonesia. A year later we were awarded our first contract to provide handling, hauling and logistics solutions at a major mining operation in Tabang in East Kalimantan.  Along with expansion into a new international market, Bis ratcheted its supply chain by acquiring Powertrans which supplied our Dual Powered Road Train technology and components.

Throughout its history, we have continued to consolidate our vast experience to offer our clients best-practice outcomes across logistics, materials handling, underground services and consulting.

More than a hundred years on we are still delivering every day for our clients at more than 40 sites across Australia and Indonesia.
