The Department of Planning & Environment is the lead NSW Government agency in planning for a growing NSW. 

The Department’s Economics, Population and Land-use Analytics Branch exists to support the Department’s Minister, the rest of the Department and the NSW public sector. We provide influential, trusted and relevant data, analysis and insights to enable evidence-based planning for the benefit of New South Wales.

We also provide evidence based analysis and insights to inform the community on issues relating to housing, population, employment and land-use, such as housing affordability and population growth.
