Job Description
The incumbent will serve in recruiting prospective students by attending various on-and-off campus recruiting events and utilizing various outreach methods such as electronic and print materials as well as social media networks. Responsibilities include individual counseling with students and parents, follow-up correspondence, telephone marketing, public relations related to student recruitment, and all other aspects of student recruitment. As a member of the district Recruitment Team, the College Recruiter reports directly to the Director of Recruitment, Communications, and Data supporting the college’s mission, vision, and recruitment priorities for internal and external constituencies.

Job Duties
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in the development of recruitment goals, objectives, and strategies for the unit.

2. Stay abreast of changes within the college including MGCCC admission requirements, scholarship/financial aid opportunities, student services, academic, career/ technical and workforce programs.

3. Promote new programs and offerings to prospective students, high school counselors, GED prospects, and community contacts.

4. Maintain good working relationships among members of the recruitment team, Student Services areas district-wide, Institutional Relations, as well as other college personnel.

5. Communicate and work cohesively with other departments and the Director of Recruitment, Communications, and Data.

6. Willingness to work flexible schedules at various campus/center and community locations including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, etc. and adherence to electronic scheduling of appointments.

7. Conduct all recruiting activities and follow-up with prospective students in an assigned territory.

8. Visit frequently and participate in events at designated high schools including college fairs, student conferences, application days, FAFSA days, event registration days, etc. to recruit students, provide information to prospective students and their parents, and promote the college.

9. Guide prospective students and their parents/supporters on the next steps of the enrollment process.

10. Work closely and maintain positive relationships with high school guidance counselors in assigned territory in the recruitment of prospective students.

11. Maintain an updated list of counselors (including career/technical/vocational staff), administrators, career coaches, as well as outstanding juniors and seniors and actively keep in contact with them.

12. Prepare and actively implement communications for prospective students by utilizing email, text messaging, voicemails, social media, etc. Respond to email and telephone inquiries in a timely manner.

13. Assist with planning recruiting events (on-and-off campus) such as Bulldog Day, Preview Day, Counselors and Principals Retreat, Community Information Sessions, etc. as assigned.

14. Coordinate and attend all on-and-off campus recruitment events within high schools as well as business/industry locations and community events.

15. Assist with the orientation of new incoming freshmen.

16. Conduct the coordination, development, and delivery of marketing/recruitment materials and other communications as needed.

17. Assist with direct mail campaign for non-traditional/high school prospects and other targeted groups to optimize recruiting efforts.

18. Coordinate the attendance/assistance of the campus Reflections Teams at all recruiting events, direct mailing efforts, etc.

19. Assist with training the campus’ Reflections Team each semester.

20. Provide recruiting reports and updates on recruitment materials including informational and giveaways as requested.

21. Perform all other duties as assigned by college administration.

Mandatory Qualifications
MANDATORY:
(M1) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related area from a regionally accredited college or university.
(M2) Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel (mail merge) and PowerPoint; email and the internet.
(M3) Experience in recruitment, public speaking, and/or sales.
(M4) Demonstrated commitment to strong customer service.
(M5) Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.


Desirable Qualifications
DESIRABLE:
(D1) Master’s Degree in college student personnel or related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
(D2) Experience with SCT Banner software.
(D3) Prior experience working in a community college, specifically in student services.
(D4) Experience with direct mail communication.
(D5) Experience in working with various social media outlets.
(D6) Speaks both English and Spanish fluently.
