Kean Miller is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal with experience in electronic discovery and litigation support to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with platforms such as Relativity and Disco, and will be responsible for loading, producing, and reviewing documents. Candidates will have extensive and comprehensive trial preparation experience. Can work in any one of our offices (Houston, The Woodlands, Baton Rouge or New Orleans)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with attorneys on various high-level litigation and case management tasks to facilitate the needs of clients including assisting in all aspects of legal research, drafting briefs, e-discovery and trial preparation for the life cycle of the case
  • Manage multiple electronic discovery projects using Relativity and Disco software in-house
  • Track productions and manage data logs for productions to be loaded to e-discovery database for attorney review
  • Load and organize documents for review
  • Produce documents in compliance with legal requirements
  • Assist attorneys with document analysis and research
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors
  • Draft, serve, and file electronically with various courts
  • Request and substantively review medical records
  • Assist with trial preparation: prepare trial exhibits, notebooks, and maintain expert binders

Requirements:

  • Associates degree and paralegal certification desired
  • Proven experience working with electronic discovery and litigation support platforms thorough knowledge of the e-discovery process, including evolving standards created through case law, rules, and industry trends, and of e-discovery/litigation support services and technologies
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of legal document management best practices
  • Some travel for mediation, arbitration and/or trial assistance
  • Ability to work with multiple attorneys across various offices
