The Role

This is a project which will support and manage a project to seek the NIST accreditation and report into the Head of IT who has an incredible management style, a view over IT, operations, and a forward-thinking mindset. In addition to the management a full NIST security accreditation delivery, this position will involve offering ongoing insightful advice to the Senior Leadership Team regarding process enhancements and ongoing security maintenance. It requires a Cyber Security Lead to help with the following specific responsibilities:

  • Understanding and interpreting gap analysis on the current cybersecurity state and assess the roadmap to achieve NIST accreditation
  • Developing processes and procedures surrounding the execution of these gap plans
  • Delivering current and future state security architecture as well as implementation roadmaps
  • Designing and implementing manual and automated controls to ensure compliance with policies
  • Partnering with internal technical stakeholders to develop technical solutions around security segregation across multiple entities
  • Running workshops and training surrounding the ongoing adoption of NIST and other security standards
  • Working with business stakeholders to identify a pragmatic approach for a fit-for-purpose solution for the current business environment with the ability to expand
  • Working closely with project teams and business stakeholders in operations

 

This is a role that will allow an individual to put their cybersecurity skills to the test in a positive and dynamic environment. This opportunity will see a well-rounded Cyber Security Lead with strong stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to be hands-on throughout this project. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity for this position to be long term.

Your Profile

You will be an individual with a strong background in Cyber Security particularly surrounding the DIST accreditation. You must be able to demonstrate the highest levels of communication to the non-technical stakeholders and be able to present written and visual communications to senior leadership. You must have NIST experience and experience in mining or defence industries will be highly sorted after.

You will have experience working within a vibrant, fast-paced environment and be a strong communicator who can present to senior executives. You will be comfortable liaising with business stakeholders and external consultancies at various levels and understand what their requirements are and how IT will enable strategic and commercial outcomes.
