We are seeking an experienced Prepress Technician to join our team.

The Prepress Technician sets the foundation for successful print output with proper formatting, appearance and layout of text and images to ensure adherence to desired result. The operator sets up all imposition and template design files. The operator will work closely with management to ensure that files are set up correctly. The operator will also work closely with the press operators to ensure that intended output is upheld consistently throughout the print production process.

This is a full-time, on-site position. Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

Preferred Skills:

  • 5 years or more of prepress experience in a fast-paced, large format environment.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe CC applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in prepress and digital printing processes and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of Caldera RIP software.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Understanding of color management and experience profiling various output devices
  • Ability to handle repetitive workflow tasks efficiently
  • Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Must work with good use of keyboard shortcuts and be able to demonstrate ability
  • Self-motivated with positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Effective communication/comprehension skills – verbal and written
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to learn new skills and related tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work and consistently meet deadlines in a fast paced, print production environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preflight electronic files received from clients to determine accuracy, omissions, or additional requirements, and report any issues to management and customer service
  • Adjust files to match customer specifications for size, content, and quality
  • Create proofs of final artwork for customer approval
  • Set up approved artwork for output on various digital printing presses
  • Output color separations for printing on screen print presses
  • Work within organizational guidelines for file structure including: save location, naming convention and file size
  • Handle the transfer of files from one press to another, including color matching, custom color creation, and set up.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary:

  • $20 – $25/hour based on experience
