Namely, Lightweight Cellular Concrete, Rapid-Set Concrete, Thermal Concrete, Controlled Low-Strength Material (CLSM)/Flowable Fill, Pump-Able Specialty Backfills, Fluidized Thermal Backfill, Compaction Grout, Slip-Line Grout, Cellular Grout and Thermal Grout.

Position Summary:

The Quality Control Technician (“QC Tech”) will work within inTerra’s Product & Project Development department and is ultimately responsible for laboratory testing, supporting research and development, materials (aggregates) and product testing (fresh mix concrete), field testing and assisting in data management and reporting. The QC Tech will assist in the execution of quality control processes, procedures and protocol associated with the production of construction materials with volumetric mobile mixers and ultimately inTerra’s quality control and quality assurance program.

Job Description:

The QC Tech will report to Project Engineers and Project Managers at the direction of inTerra’s national management team inclusive of its General Manager (National Product and Project Development), General Manager (National Operations) and the Project Manager (National Operations) and will be responsible for the following and additional tasks at the discretion of the management team:

1. Lab & Field Testing Activities

· Component Material Testing (sand, stone, pozzolans, etc.)

· Production Equipment (Mobile Mixers, etc.) calibrations

· Product Testing quality control and quality assurance (internal and external)

2. Data Reporting

· Concrete Field Report Submittal

· Calibration and other testing report submittals

3. Mix Design Engineering

· Test laboratory trials to validate properties, performance and compliance

· Replicate laboratory trials in the field with production equipment as required

· Test filed trials to validate laboratory trials and specification and performance requirements

4. Project Specification Review & Mix Design Submittals

· Review project specifications and mix design submittals

· Confirm mix design entries in mobile mixer computers match mix design submittals and project specifications

Salary & Benefits:

· Starting Hourly Rate Range $26-$33.50

Qualifications:

· 1-years minimum experience in construction materials testing and/or project engineering

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or related field
  • ACI (Field, Lab & Strength) certification. Qualified candidates without current ACI certification will be considered, however, continued employment may be contingent on achieving certification within a timeframe acceptable to inTerra.
  • OSHA 40-hour – Preferred
  • Ability to routinely work in field and on heavy construction job sites
  • Job involves a considerable amount of hands-on work at the laboratory and in the field. Must be able to lift at least 70-lbs.

  • Although not typical for this position, ability to travel on occasion is a plus
