Job Description

Job Summary:

The Facility Safety Coordinator at Everts Air Cargo supports safety programs for workers and the environment. This role requires daily engagement with employees and quick communication of safety reports to management. Providing a customer-focused approach, the coordinator clearly communicates safety policies and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial for promptly addressing safety hazards. Motivating others to maintain a safe work environment is essential for this position.

Schedule: M-F 8:00AM-5:00PM

Key Duties:

  • Support and facilitate the company's occupational and environmental programs.
  • Maintain a positive safety presence within the facilities.
  • Perform daily and monthly facility inspections.
  • Maintain safety databases like the digital SDS, OSHA reports, SWPPP, airport oil spill logs, and related programs.
  • Assist in developing and conducting safety-related training.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of safety information and promotional materials.
  • Maintain and manage occupational and environmental safety reports.
  • Assist with the disposal of hazardous waste.
  • Assist departments in meeting safety goals and resolving issues through site visits.
  • Assist with communication and liaising with regulated entities as needed.
  • Assist in updating the Occupational Safety Manual as needed.
  • Complete other assigned duties.

Required/Preferred Experience, Education and Skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Education, certification, or experience in Occupational Safety, EHS, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields.
  • Proficient in OSHA, EPA, or Alaska DEC regulations; OSHA 30 and HAZWOPER 40 certifications a plus.
  • Strong understanding of safety management laws.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Experience in public speaking and safety training.
  • Effective public relations, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Background in aviation or occupational safety preferred.
  • Proficient in research and reporting skills.
