Job Description Summary:The University of Kansas Medical Center {KUMC) is seeking a
full-time {12-month) faculty member to join our team in the Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training
{PTRSAT) to teach courses in a new hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy {DPT) pathway. This program expansion was approved by Commission on
Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education {CAPTE) in November 2024 and the first cohort of students started in May 2025.
This newly
created faculty position is designated as a non-tenure track position at the Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor level. The
successful candidate will have experience in online/hybrid instruction in a physical therapy program and excellent communication skills with
demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a remote/hybrid team. This position includes teaching content in neurologic,
cardiopulmonary, pediatric, or other courses in the DPT curriculum.
The individual selected for this position will be responsible
for activities that contribute to the program and department's mission and success, ensuring alignment with the University's mission and
strategic plan as it pertains to teaching, research, and service. The purpose of this hybrid pathway for our DPT program is to address the
unmet need for PTs in rural Kansas and other medically underserved areas by providing an accessible approach to DPT education that empowers
students to invest in their local communities while benefitting from the remarkable value of an established, top-ranked public
program.

Department: The Department of Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Science, and Athletic Training {PTRSAT) is one of the largest departments in
the School of Health Professions located on the medical campus in urban Kansas City, KS. The PTRSAT department houses a nationally
recognized Doctor of Physical Therapy program {ranked #10 nationwide, and #6 for DPT programs at public institutions), a well-established
PhD in Rehabilitation Science program, and a newly developed Master of Science in Athletic Training program. The location and environment at
KUMC provide excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary and interprofessional education and research collaborations. The PTRSAT
department provides strong departmental support and infrastructure, including teaching and research mentorship, along with a supportive and
collegial work environment. Researchers in the PTRSAT Department are at the forefront of advancing knowledge in rehabilitation and lifestyle
interventions, motor control and mobility, and health professions education. The hybrid pathway will provide exciting research opportunities
within the department's LEARN Lab, a collaborative group focused on advancing research in health professions education.

DPT program following accreditation standards.

Work Environment: Faculty must be
willing to travel approximately 4-6 times each year to our Kansas City KS campus for in-person teaching and meetings.
Required
QualificationsLicenses: Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice physical therapy in Kansas.
Work
Experience: - Experience as a core faculty member in a DPT program
- Experience with innovative classroom approaches in PT
education (e.g., active learning strategies, integration of educational technology, learner-centered pedagogy, evidence-informed curriculum
design, etc.)
Preferred QualificationsEducation: Terminal doctoral degree (such as Ph.D., EdD, Dsc,
etc).
Work Experience:- Experience with teaching and leading immersive lab sessions in a hybrid DPT
program.
- Experience teaching didactic neurologic, cardiopulmonary, or pediatric courses in a entry-level DPT
program
