ANTICIPATED TEACHER VACANCY 2026-2027

The following position is posted in accordance with the negotiated agreement:

POSITION: 1.0 FTE Elementary Special Education Teacher (Probationary Appointment)

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION:

• NYS Certification Childhood Education Gr. 1-6

• NYS Certification Students with Disabilities K-12 or 1-6; K extension

• NYS Certification Early Childhood Education Birth - 2nd

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Comprehensive understanding of NYS ELA and Math CC Standards and evidence based

instructional practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of evidence based literacy instruction aligned to the Science of

Reading.

• Comprehensive understanding of special education requirements and law as it relates to the

implementation of IEP's, and differentiation of instruction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Knowledge of the principles and methods for instruction at the elementary level and early childhood education.

• Demonstrate ability to design and implement lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of

students.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with faculty, related service providers, families,

and grade levels team.

• Ability to create a positive student centered learning environment.

• Utilization of student assessments and data processes to progress monitor, identify

programmatic needs, as well as target support for individual students.

• Collaborate with faculty and grade level team to design, modify, and implement effective lesson

(unit) plans

• Develop and implement IEP's for students with disabilities

START DATE: September 1, 2026

SALARY: Compensation as per District/AFA Collective Bargaining Agreement
