This position provides high quality comprehensive healthcare within a Division III institution. The ideal candidate will be able to assist our student-athletes with prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of athletic injuries and illnesses. He/She/They shall also serve as a role model in meeting the complementary goals of the Athletic Department.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) - Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Current NATABOC certification. NYS Licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • Experience working in an athletic training setting (collegiate experience preferred); New grads are encouraged to apply and immersive experiences can be taken into account, two years' experience preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and treat student-athletes with new/recurring injuries from athletic participation;
  • Educating student-athletes on overall wellness techniques to include listening and dealing with mental health conditions;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work cooperatively with medical staff, coaches, athletic training students, and other healthcare providers;
  • Ability to clearly, accurately, and fully complete medical forms related to injuries and insurance coverage and to maintain required medical records;
  • Excellent organizational and program design skills;
  • Experience with concussion baseline testing, injury tracking software, and other computer programs;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and professional development;
  • Remain up to date with the athletic training professional certification requirements;
  • Have current CPR/AED, First Aid Professional Rescuer certification (instructor certification preferred);
  • Other certifications preferred: CSCS, CES, PES, IASTM, BFR.

Special Working Conditions:

  • Regular evening and weekend hours are required.
  • Some travel will be required
  • Must be able to lift/move objects of weight (can be up to/over 50lbs)

Primary Duties:

  • Provide healthcare services for intercollegiate athletes under the direction of licensed physicians.
  • Recognize, evaluate, assess, and treat athletic injuries/illnesses or refer to medical professionals/services for immediate or follow-up care.
  • Provide injury/illness prevention and risk management services for athletes; Provides treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning programs in consultation with other healthcare professionals and coaches.
  • Assist Head Athletic Trainer with administrative responsibilities (may include but not limited to: student work study supervision, supplies/equipment inventory, facility maintenance, and medical record keeping).
  • Provide consultation to the athlete, coach, and parents (when needed) regarding injury status, clearance, and the ability to perform while maintaining proper confidentiality of athlete's medical history.
  • Educate student-athletes, coaches, and staff on latest medical guidelines including but not limited to injury, illness, alcohol, drugs and tobacco.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage for practices, home games and travel (when able) with assigned teams.
  • Maintain direct, complete, honest communication with the Head Athletic Trainer daily.
  • Create and display informative bulletin board topics throughout the academic year.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer or Director of Athletics.

Benefits:

This is a full-time 12mo exempt salaried position. The current salary is $64,350. This position includes a full benefits package - medical, dental, vision insurance; paid time off, paid sick time, tuition remission.
