We are seeking an experienced Radiology Manager to oversee the daily operations of a dynamic Radiology Department in Sitka, Alaska. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality imaging services, regulatory compliance, staff competency, equipment maintenance, and efficient departmental workflows.
The Radiology Manager will supervise radiology personnel, support PACS operations, maintain quality assurance programs, and collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
- Oversee daily operations of the Radiology Department
- Monitor incoming radiology studies to ensure timely submission and reporting
- Provide PACS training and technical support for staff
- Assist with radiology transcription and workflow issues
- Maintain departmental policies and procedures
- Ensure all radiology equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and compliant
- Manage radiation protection and monitoring programs
- Coordinate with Finance to maintain and update the radiology chargemaster
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue capture and operational efficiency
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control activities are completed
- Prepare departmental reports and operational documentation
- Conduct lead apron testing and compliance monitoring
- Validate staff competency for radiologic procedures and exams
- Directly supervise radiology department staff
- Conduct timely employee evaluations and performance reviews
- Support ongoing staff education, competency, and professional development
- Foster a collaborative, patient-focused, and high-performing work environment
- Perform radiologic exams within scope of qualifications and competency as needed
- Work closely with clinic administrators, physicians, and medical directors
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards
- Support organizational quality and patient safety initiatives
- Perform additional departmental and organizational responsibilities as assigned
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology
- ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Mammographer
- Registered Ultrasound Technologist
- Minimum 5 years of Radiology Management and supervisory experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- PACS training required
- CT Technologist experience preferred
- MRI Technologist experience preferred
- Federal, state, and accreditation regulations related to radiology services
- Digitized imaging systems and PACS operations
- MQSA requirements
- Radiation safety and compliance standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently across multiple computer systems
- Accurate and timely medical documentation skills
- Ability to develop and maintain radiology manuals and policies
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership abilities
