Maintenance Supervisor (Production & Building Utilities) – 2nd Shift

Location: Montgomery, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift | 6 days
Pay: $78,000–$88,000/year

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for directing maintenance personnel, troubleshooting equipment issues, overseeing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring production equipment and building utilities operate safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills combined with hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing or food production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and develop maintenance technicians across production and facility operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, boiler, and utility systems.
  • Support preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, compressors, ovens, and packaging equipment.
  • Support maintenance and repair of PLC-controlled systems, including Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
  • Oversee facility systems including refrigeration, chillers, boilers, compressors, and fire/sprinkler systems.
  • Assist with welding, fabrication, plumbing, and building maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout, and food manufacturing standards.
  • Coordinate projects, manage maintenance priorities, and support production needs.
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and equipment reports.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate maintenance personnel while leading by example on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience within industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, drives, PLCs, and ladder logic.
  • Experience working with conveyors, pumps, motors, compressors, boilers, HVAC, and processing equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to read schematics, prints, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience within food manufacturing or packaging environments preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced production environments and leading maintenance teams.
