Position Title
Head Men's Wrestling Coach

Overview
St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. Job Responsibilities
Coaches are required to adhere to all NCAA, conference, departmental and institutional guidelines and policies. In addition, demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with all constituent groups, including and prioritizing student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community.
Men’s Wrestling Coaching & Education
  • Coordination of practice and game planning and coaching
  • Individual & small group coaching sessions and film sessions
  • Game day meetings, coaching, post-game debrief
  • Participation in community service events


Recruiting
  • Leverage Teamworks software to coordinate prospective student-athlete recruitment
  • Work with admissions office and members of the Enrollment Management Division to ensure recruitment of student athletes is consistent and follows institutional best practices
  • On and off-campus recruitment, including outreach via mailings, phone calls, visits and electronic communications
  • Administrative tasks as assigned by department
  • Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student-athletes
  • Yearly NCAA rules test

Education / Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree


Preferred:
  • Master’s degree
  • Intercollegiate playing experience
  • Collegiate coaching experience

Competencies / Skills
Ability to demonstrate wrestling related skills, interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the University.

Physical Demands
Must be able to demonstrate wrestling related techniques. The job entails normal sitting, standing and walking throughout the course of the day.

Supervision of Employees
Coordinate duties and supervision of part-time assistant coaches.

Work Environment
Well lighted, well-ventilated pleasant work area. Work with students and accompany team when traveling.

Equipment to be Used
Must be able to be proficient in word, excel and able to learn other sport related computer programs. Equipment related to sport.

Job Type
Full-time

Work Hours
Full-time. Schedule varies depending on whether in-season or out-of-season. The ability to work nights and weekends required to support practices, games and recruiting events.

Salary / Hourly Range
$59,000.00 - $69,500.00 per year

The salary range for this role is set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, qualifications, experience, and education. The above hiring range is one component of the University’s competitive Total Rewards package which can be viewed here
