Account Executive- Safety Staffing & Business Development

Job Description

About AZA Safety Consultants

AZA Safety Consultants LLC is a specialized safety staffing brokerage placing qualified safety professionals — including CHST-certified managers, OSHA 30 supervisors, and Cal/OSHA Competent Person designees — with general contractors, construction firms, risk management companies, and safety consulting organizations across California, Arizona, and Nevada.

We are a lean, fast-growing operation and we are looking for a driven, results-oriented Account Executive to build our client pipeline and establish strategic partnerships across the construction and safety industry.

Position Summary

The Account Executive is responsible for generating new business by identifying, prospecting, and closing partnerships with companies that need qualified safety professionals on a contract or direct-hire basis. This is a high-activity, relationship-driven role that requires consistent outbound outreach, strong communication, and the ability to build trust with decision-makers across multiple industries.

This role is well-suited for someone who understands the construction and safety industry, is comfortable making cold calls, and thrives in a commission-driven environment with real earning potential.

Roles & Responsibilities

Outbound Business Development

  • Conduct high-volume outbound cold calls to general contractors, staffing firms, safety consulting companies, and risk management organizations
  • Identify and qualify decision-makers including Directors of Risk Management, VP of Safety, EHS Managers, and Business Development Managers
  • Execute multi-touch outreach sequences combining phone calls, LinkedIn messaging, and email to build a consistent pipeline
  • Log all outreach activity, pipeline stages, and follow-up tasks in the company CRM daily

Partnership & Account Development

  • Pitch AZA's safety staffing capabilities and contractor bench to potential partner organizations
  • Build and maintain relationships with staffing agencies, general contractors, construction management firms, and risk management companies seeking to fill safety professional roles
  • Negotiate vendor agreements, staffing services agreements, and partnership terms in coordination with company leadership
  • Represent AZA at industry events, trade associations (AGC, ASSP), and networking opportunities

Client Engagement & Account Management

  • Conduct needs assessments with prospective clients to understand project scope, safety staffing requirements, and compliance obligations
  • Coordinate with internal operations to match qualified contractors to client needs
  • Manage ongoing client relationships to ensure satisfaction, identify upsell opportunities, and secure repeat business
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins with active accounts to review performance and surface new placement opportunities

Reporting & Strategy

  • Report weekly on call volume, pipeline status, new contacts, proposals submitted, and deals closed
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activity, pricing trends, and client needs in the construction safety space
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine messaging, target industries, and outreach strategy

Performance Expectations

The following are minimum activity and performance benchmarks for this role:

  • Minimum 40–60 outbound calls per day across target industries
  • Minimum 5 qualified discovery calls or meetings set per week
  • At least 2 signed vendor/partnership agreements within the first 90 days
  • Active pipeline of no fewer than 20 prospects maintained at all times
  • CRM updated daily with accurate notes, next steps, and stage movement
  • First placement or partnership activation within 60–90 days of hire

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of B2B sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Experience in staffing, construction, safety, or a related industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated history of cold calling and building a pipeline from scratch
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable negotiating contracts and service agreements
  • Self-directed and able to work independently in a remote environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: Commensurate with experience
  • Commission: Competitive structure on placements and signed partnership agreements — uncapped earning potential

“For every new client agreement signed, our Account Executives earn a performance bonus of up to $500 per client — with no cap on the number of clients you can close. The more partnerships you build, the more you earn.”

  • Remote position — flexible schedule within core business hours (M–F)
  • Mileage and travel reimbursement for industry events and client meetings
  • Growth opportunity into a senior or Director-level role as AZA scales
