DVM: Interested in DOING THINGS? Imaging? Endoscopy? Other?

Job Description

DO YOU LIKE BRUTAL DAYS, CORPORATE PAYMASTERS, COOKIE-CUTTER MEDICINE, MINIMAL STAFF WITH MINIMAL TRAINING, AND BOOOOORING PEOPLE? Uh....That's cool, you do you. But this job probably isn't what you're looking for.

We're four small animal docs looking for a fifth, non-corporate, AHAA-accredited, and you actually kinda wanna work here. Unless you like being bored, overworked, underappreciate, short-handed... then you probably want to work somewhere else. Oh, and we don't do nights or weekends, so you'll need to have or develop a social life I guess.*

We're in Southern Indiana, right across the river from Louisville. You get all the perks of living in the city, with less traffic and more house for less money. There's plenty to do in Jeffersonville and New Albany, but I can also get most places in Louisville faster than my friends who live there.

We've got a talented, reliable team of people that are genuinely enjoyable to hang out with. We don't tolerate nonsense - everyone on our team, including clients, has integrity and is respectful - or they get gone. Plus we're a little odd, so the uptight ones often show themselves out too. As workplaces go, I'd give it a 97.3/100 (I'm working on adding a second pinball machine to the breakroom, which should get us to an even 98). We do cool stuff like echocardiography too, if you're more into medicine than pinball. Nerd.

Okay, okay - nerds are cool. Actually angling for someone who wants to Do A Thing. I like mentorship, so if it's in our wheelhouse already (ultrasound/echocardiography, advanced dentristry, soft tissue surgery, etc) this is a good place to look for a real sherpa. Plus, I get bored easy (Adderall helps, but doesn't cure), and am always up for a new challenge - so if we aren't doing it, we should talk about supporting you doing/figuring out how to do it. I might even tag along. We'd be particularly interested in adding endoscopy, but I'm open to discussing whatev.

Also - straight salary. I'm not judging anyone personally, but we have mixed feelings about docs on commission. Not to mention it implies the only thing you do of real monetary value for the practice is selling goods and your services, which is just false. Teach the new tech something or write me a client handout - that goes farther than a box of Bravecto. Don't worry, if we want you and you want to be here, we'll make the numbers work without you having to worry how busy we keep ya. Full benefits and all that jazz, of course. So, if you have a passing interest:

  • Poke around our facebook (https://www.facebook.com/AccessVetCare) and website (accessvetcare.com)
  • Kick a resume to mgmt@accessvetcare.com
  • Come chat over coffee (or video, if you're looking to relocate)

* Bonus points if you can succesfully explain the difference in Aristotle and Heidigger's ontologic philosophies to a Labrador. Okay, okay, that's probably reaching...Just explain ontology to any large breed dog and we'll call it good.
