Job Description
We are seeking a Commissioning / QAQC Lead to serve as the senior site startup and quality leader for assigned campuses, buildings, or systems. This role provides hands-on leadership for critical commissioning, startup, turnover, and QA/QC activities while coaching field teams to improve execution, installation quality, system readiness, and operational handoff.
The Commissioning / QAQC Lead acts as the connection point between the Commissioning / QAQC Director, Commissioning Managers, QA/QC teams, vendors, construction teams, controls teams, and operations stakeholders to ensure consistent startup discipline, readiness standards, quality execution, and reliable turnover.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Lead assigned commissioning, startup, turnover, and QA/QC scopes onsite
Support startup sequencing, readiness planning, and execution coordination
Lead and support integrated testing, functional validation, and energization readiness
Validate readiness gates, turnover packages, and operational handoff requirements
Identify, escalate, and drive closure of deficiencies
Verify installation quality and support QA/QC inspections and audits
Coordinate with construction, controls, vendors, commissioning, and operations teams
Support startup recovery actions and issue resolution
Reinforce startup discipline, QA/QC standards, and documentation quality
Coach and mentor Commissioning and QA/QC personnel in the field
Identify recurring quality or startup issues and drive corrective action
Support site priorities established by the Commissioning / QAQC Director
Required Skills and Experience
Strong experience in data center commissioning, startup, QA/QC, construction quality, or critical infrastructure delivery
Knowledge of commissioning processes, integrated systems testing, turnover, and operational readiness
Experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, or mission-critical facility systems
Ability to read and interpret design drawings, specifications, test scripts, inspection plans, and turnover documentation
Strong understanding of deficiency management, quality verification, and readiness gate processes
Proven ability to lead field teams, coordinate stakeholders, and drive issue resolution
Strong communication skills with the ability to escalate risks clearly and quickly
Ability to work effectively with construction teams, vendors, contractors, commissioning agents, and operations teams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Hands-on field leadership style with a focus on safety, quality, accountability, and execution

On-Site Expectations
This is a highly field-focused role, especially during turnover, testing, and startup phases. The Commissioning / QAQC Lead is expected to maintain a strong daily presence in the field to validate readiness, observe execution, coach teams, and resolve issues in real time.
Expected site engagement includes:
75-90% field/site engagement during turnover and startup periods
Moderate field engagement during early construction for readiness planning and quality oversight
Regular participation in readiness reviews, startup coordination meetings, QA/QC discussions, integrated testing, energization readiness, and issue resolution

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
