This position will focus on supporting the identification, development, and implementation of new and/or improved data management processes, reporting, data analytics, and metrics across the Global Supply Chain Systems Innovation Team. This includes engagement across all GPSC functional areas, and significant cross functional interactions with GM IT. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, cataloging, and promoting the use of existing reporting and data analytics capabilities, as well as, leading efforts to develop new and improved capabilities. The candidate will also be expected to coordinate with GM IT, to ensure the availability, quality, and reliability of data to fulfill existing and new reporting, analytics, and metrics initiatives.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide business support for existing data, reporting, analytics, metrics, and strategic data project initiatives within the GPSC Systems Innovation Team by designing, building, and deploying BI solutions.
Coordinate and support the identification, definition, validation, and implementation of Supply Chain business processes and systems.
Coordinate and support the execution of production data, reporting, and analytics solutions within our Global Supply Chain IT Portfolio.
Translate business needs and data related concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences throughout the organization.
Create and maintain a Supply Chain "data portfolio", to document who needs what data, when they need it, and where the data is located.
Conduct presentations to all levels of management.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Self-starter with the ability to influence others, working in teams and independently with customers, cohorts, and stakeholders across many different physical locations
Ability to define and propose innovative solutions to business problems and projects that may begin with ambiguous requirements and requests
3+ years of experience with SQL, (or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and BI Tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI). Advanced SQL querying skills, with experience querying large datasets and complex from multiple sources and developing automated reporting.
3+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst, data analyst or statistical analysis role.
Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple, visual terms suitable to a wide cross-section of audiences (data storytelling)
Proactive and effective project management and communication skills to provide project status, progress on deliverables and risks/issues to stakeholders
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Technical degree required: Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering or Operations Management
Co-op experience, internship, or minimum three year's work experience in a related field preferred
