JOB OVERVIEW The Black Men’s Clinic Health is seeking a passionate and outgoing individual to join the Black Men’s Health Clinic (BMHC) team as a Community Health Worker supporting our collaboration with Dell Medical School’s Advancing Breast Health in Central Texas (ABH-CTX 2) and the Central Texas Colorectal Cancer Screening (CTX-CCSP) Programs. Breast cancer screenings and diagnostic services are commonly focused on biological women, with less than 1% of men diagnosed on average. Additionally, incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is highest among non-Hispanic Black men and women, while screening for CRC is lowest among patient populations who identify as multi-racial or Hispanic. However, the intentional inclusion of men enhances awareness, health equity, and access to care while elevating opportunities to create more discussions with men and a better connection to women who might not otherwise be engaged in colorectal or breast cancer prevention.
