Assistant Professor, Instruction – Percussion University of Akron Akron, Ohio Professor of Practice – Artist/Teacher of Percussion beginning in August 2026. Responsibilities will include teaching and service to the school, college, and university, commensurate with the expectations of full-time faculty in the School of Performing Arts. We seek scholars that will lead collaborations among faculty, students and community partners that address questions of well-being, public safety, and civic engagement. Job ID: 372797 About the Job In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct research related to fetal origins of health disease and in particular how maternal diet and microbiome shape nutrient sensing of key metabolic tissues such as pancreas, liver and adipose tissue. We perform high fat diet (HFD) feeding studies in mice to induce weight gain during pregnancy, and in animal models of obesity and diabetes during pregnancy and assess the metabolic outcome of the offspring across lifespan.
