The Office of Animal Resources at the University of Iowa is seeking a Veterinary Technician. Under general supervision, provides veterinary care for animals used in a research setting. May perform veterinary care, animal husbandry, and basic technical skills. Provides assistance to Veterinarians and investigative staff in their treatment of animals used in teaching, training, or research functions. Position operates within standard guidelines and alternatives that are known, and any deviation from such requires prior approval. Staff will work a rotating on-call schedule and holidays. The State Hygienic Laboratory (SHL), at the University of Iowa, under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Clerk Typist II in the Ankeny, Iowa facility. The primary function of the position is to contribute to the Newborn Screening section of the State Hygienic Laboratory. This position is expected to provide superior customer service and support to the SHL clientele via telephone and other modes of communication.
