Description: Licensed Clinicians function as an integral part of a behavioral health care system, administering the SUD Assessment, and other screening tools to determine a SUD diagnostic impression; rating the severity of alcohol/drug use; recommending appropriate placement at the safest and most clinically appropriate level of care in a treatment setting, monitoring/identification and/or referral of the client to care coordination or peer mentor services until they are able to access treatment services. Substance Use Disorder Assessment Applies a multi-disciplinary approach to client care. Uses age-appropriate diagnostic tools: The American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria and DSM-IV diagnostic criteria, testing instruments, in the continuum of care, intervention techniques. Job Overview: Instructors provide on-site facilitation of a structured Cognitive Behavioral Curriculums to designated criminal justice populations in the facility. Each model curriculum includes facilitating the integration of core components of cognitive behavioral interventions. Two project design models, designed by the University of Cincinnati can be employed, based on programming offered within specific KDOC facilities. Heavy emphasis is placed on skill building activities to assist with cognitive, social, emotional, and coping skill development. Each program screens targeted incarcerated individuals who meet particular criteria.
