Summary The dialysis nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with end-stage renal disease who are being maintained by hemodialysis in a chronic unit setting and on rare occasions in an acute unit setting. Either area requires the nurse to provide treatment utilizing the nursing process, according to the written procedures and policies of hemodialysis unit.
