Summary
Under general supervision, supports compliance programs by assisting with surveys, audits, and background checks to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and aids in process improvements. Prepares and presents compliance data to HR leadership, working closely with external partners on compliance and accreditation, managing regulatory readiness, and advising on compliance matters. Manages compliance records, updates reports, and identifies compliance issues, coordinating with internal teams to uphold standards during onboarding and pre-employment.
Responsibilities
Compliance Coordinator
A ssist in administering compliance programs in accordance with compliance standards.
S upport compliance programs such as HR surveys and audits, compliance investigations, or other related activities.
A ssist with audits and document management, records, and files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
P rovide support to the administration of the background check process to ensure all workforce members satisfy the established standards for the position.
R outinely support audits of background check records to ensure compliance with the background check process. Update reports to derive compliance data results, presenting and explaining findings to HR leadership.
M aintain records of compliance activities and information needed to file various reports.
I dentify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations that require further follow-up.
E nsure HR procedures are documented, implemented, and communicated.
S upport the implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
S upport the operations team with all regulatory pre-employment and onboarding requirements, ensuring all requirements are met during the onboarding life-cycle including hire forms such as the Form I-9, background checks, fingerprinting, state registry checks, health screenings, and minimum job requirements such as credentials, experience, and education.
C oordinate with the contracting team to ensure compliance matters are addressed and adhered to. Act as an HR point of contact during auditing processes.
C ultivate positive interpersonal relationships with clinical and administrative leadership as well as external partners.
E scalate issues promptly and with diplomacy and discretion.

C onduct HR audits, compliance investigations, or other related activities. Determine the appropriate schedule and frequency and provide recommendations for process improvements.
A udit and maintain documents, records, and files to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
A dminister the background check process ensuring all workforce members satisfy the established standards for the position.
R outinely audit background check records to ensure compliance with the background check process.
A ssist the senior compliance analyst in preparing reports of compliance data results, presenting and explaining findings to HR leadership. Maintain records of compliance activities and information needed to file various reports.
I dentify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations that require further follow-up.
A ssist with implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
W ork seamlessly with HR departments to ensure compliance matters are met. Coordinate with the contracting team to ensure compliance matters are addressed and adhered to.

C onsult with the legal department advising HR leadership on compliance matters.
V erify that HR Operations procedures are documented, implemented, and communicated.
P artner with the Shared Services manager with implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
A ct as an HR point of contact during auditing processes. Cultivate positive interpersonal relationships with clinical and administrative leadership as well as external partners.
E nforce organizational compliance standards by ensuring external partners adhere to policies and clear candidate backgrounds for onboarding.
O versee the continuous updating and management of internal programs related to licensure and certification requirements. Collaborate with ANMC Administration to ensure seamless tracking of licensure and certification requirements, proactively preventing any lapses or compliance gaps.
A s the Local Agency Security Officer (LASO), partner with the Department of Public Safety on fingerprint background clearances, biennial and triennial audits, driving process improvements for faster results and compliance.
L ead the tracking and compliance management of ICPA covered positions, ensuring all candidate backgrounds meet eligibility and regulatory requirements.
F irst line in resolving compliance issues promptly and with diplomacy and discretion.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
C ompliance Analyst: A n Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology Business, or related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
S enior Compliance Analyst: A Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Education, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology Business, or related field. Progressively responsible professional/exempt work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.
mInimum Experience Qualification
C ompliance Analyst: N on-supervisory – Three (3) years of progressively responsible human resources or health care experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
S enior Compliance Analyst: N on-Supervisory – Five (4) years of progressively responsible human resources or health care experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

C riminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), Security Awareness training: General role, within 30 days of employment start date.
E xperience in the Alaska Tribal Health System.
