Overview

Sundog Poetry, a respected Vermont based literary-arts nonprofit, seeks a Managing Director to oversee organizational operations. This position, while part-time, is the sole staff role and requires a dynamic professional who can work independently while collaborating closely with the Board of Directors.

What You’ll Do

As Managing Director, you'll oversee all aspects of Sundog’s operations, including fundraising campaigns, grant identification and management, marketing and communications, program coordination, budget oversight, and strategic planning. You'll manage an exciting slate of programming featuring events for established and emerging poets, youth-focused initiatives, a book award, and occasional workshops and retreats.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate works well both independently and in community, holds strong management skills, has fundraising experience and excellent communication abilities. They should have experience in marketing and outreach, particularly digital and social media, and be comfortable managing multiple projects independently. Nonprofit experience and a passion for literary arts are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading fundraising initiatives and managing grant lifecycles
  • Overseeing all marketing, communications, and social media
  • Coordinating program logistics and event execution
  • Managing administrative operations and board relations
  • Participating in strategic planning and organizational development

This remote, part-time position offers schedule flexibility, though occasional evening and weekend availability for events may be required.
