Assists the Deputy Director for Operations (DDO) in planning, Implementing and directing operational matters for the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC).
Supervises administrative staff.
Maintains DDO’s calendar.
Investigates, reviews and provides solutions with problem areas.
Completes confidential assignments.
Maintains specialized confidential correspondence, records and reports.
Maintains suspense file on all work assignments/projects for the DDO.
Directs budget preparation and monitors expenditures for the DDO.
Monitor compliance with fiscal budget activity as it relates to the DDO.
Compose budget summaries in preparation for budget submission.
Coordinates with other areas for preparation for submission for CPIP.
Oversee all aspects of human resource (HR) matters which include liaison with HR division, coordinates all personnel actions such as resignations, terminations, preparing documents, the hiring and interviewing process for approximately 122 divisional and institutional positions.
Develops and maintains SOPs for all positions that fall under the Office of the Deputy Director of Operations.
Supervises the preparation of responses to inmate correspondence for the office of the DDO.
Maintains a professional relationship with the Agency Director, Deputy Directors, Wardens, other State agencies and vendors.

Facilitates internal processes, i.e. procurement and/or human resources on designated special projects.
Assist with Business Management role for 21 institutions in the absence of Institutional Business Managers.
Serves as the Business and Contract Manager for the Office of the DDO.
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for required work experience.
A high school diploma and ten (10) years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
A degree may substitute for required work experience on a year for year basis.
