This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Office of Higher Education (OHE). MNIT OHE designs and supports large and complex database and reporting systems. The team leads the technical design of agency systems, business practices, and process automation.
This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last three (3) years.
As an Advanced Data Analyst, analytical thinking, advanced level SQL skills, knowledge of working data process flows, and problem solving are the most critical skills required of this position. The nature of this role is instrumental in the success between analyzing data, documenting requirements, designing a solution, writing complex queries and making recommendations towards implementation of the system/project; it also places a premium on creative and effective problem solving, planning and analytical activities. This position must work effectively with the developer(s) and business owners to create solutions that meet user and technical requirements to ensure the data quality, and the functionality of the system is met and tested.
This position will assist with diverse data analysis activities for student loan data, data feeds, financial reporting and other areas at the Office of Higher Education as needed. This position will be a key staff member helping OHE with technical issues surrounding ad hoc data requests and will be expected to become proficient and be able to trouble shoot data issues and understanding the correlation between tables and multiple data sets used for OHE reporting.. This person will be expected to understand the technical design of data warehouse systems, identify issues and opportunities to enhance data management and reporting, and is responsible for both detailed and high-level problem solving, data analysis, and data extraction using SQL. They will create and maintain documentation.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 1450 Energy Park Dr. Saint Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience performing IT data analysis or quality assurance for large scale, enterprise business initiatives.
Experience must include:
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
