Job Title: Principal System Safety EngineerJob Description
The Principal Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for maintaining a safety assignment throughout a program's life cycle and collaborating with various disciplines. This position will conduct System Safety analysis in accordance with the latest standards and applicable governmental directions.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement system safety programs on complex system development contracts.
Prepare and maintain a Hazard Tracking System, System Safety Management Plan, and System Safety Program Plan.
Support the System Safety Working Group charter.
Assess system risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Conduct Preliminary Hazard List, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, System Requirements Hazard Analysis, Subsystem Hazard Analysis, System Hazard Analysis, Health Hazard Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in safety engineering and Mil Standard 882E.
System-specific knowledge in defense systems, explosives safety, electromagnetic radiation, laser safety, and/or software safety.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 8 years of system safety engineering experience.
Experience with Department of Defense standards.
Working familiarity with STD 1472G.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in technical writing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for program events and training activities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
