Job Title: Youth and Senior Services Programs Manager

Classification: Full-Time 40 hrs/week

Reports to: Programs Officer

The mission of Casa Familiar is to enhance quality of life for people living in underserved and underrepresented communities.

Job Brief:

The Youth and Senior Services Manager will oversee programs and services that cater to the needs of youth and senior populations within the San Diego/San Ysidro communities. This role involves strategic planning, program development, staff supervision, and community outreach to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that enhance these group’s well-being and quality of life.

This role will oversee youth programs, including academic tutoring and support, youth mentorship, summer camp programs, juvenile diversion, and social/emotional enrichment for school-aged youth.

In addition, this position will oversee Casa Familiar's senior services, which include senior onsite social services, personal development classes, workshops, assistance with social benefit program applications, and physical and recreational activities to nurture a happier and healthier senior community.

This position collaborates with the Programs Officer and several key leaders to ensure that all programs and services successfully connect with our youth and older adult population.

The Youth and Senior Services Manager will work with team members to enhance the quality and efficiency of services, provide support and training, and be open to feedback. The Youth and Senior Services Manager will communicate clearly with their team about goals, monitor those goals, and adjust their approach as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Incorporates evidence-based models of care into services to maximize program impact.
  • Completes all necessary grant and program reporting and proactively communicate trends and best practices.
  • Oversees program development, implementation of programs, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Supervise and work closely with direct reports to support program implementation and achieve impactful outcomes.
  • Provides direct reports with support and guidance for best management practices
  • Monitors staff performance including performance reviews
  • Set appropriate goals and actions to pursue and determine what strategies are needed to achieve the program goals on time
  • Creates, implements, and maintains program documentation
  • Complete program budgets and reports on time
  • Ensures that teams are providing outstanding customer service and programming
  • Appropriately and proactively address difficult situations
  • Communicates effectively with peers, direct reports, supervisor, leadership, partners, stakeholders, and team members
  • Provides day-to-day support and guidance to supervisor and leadership team on program management

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Program supervision and management experience
  • Three years of experience with community organizing and working alongside underserved communities
  • Three years of experience planning and implementing community-based programming
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the needs of the staff and program participants are being met
  • Skilled at using software and systems such as client data software, social media, and Microsoft Office products
  • Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish)

● Proven communication and active listening skills to convey information in a clear, concise way, synthesizing information, and providing information to others

● Punctual and reliable

● Able to navigate and respond in a timely manner to e-mails and phone calls

● Valid California driver's license

● Full COVID-19 vaccines

Additional Requirements:

All Casa Familiar employees are requested to attend various community events and community meetings that may be scheduled outside of regularly scheduled hours. The responsibilities of Casa Familiar employees vary during these events and meetings. It is also expected that employees will help with organized outreach efforts that may include door-to-door outreach and dissemination of information.

● Must be able to perform work in a climate-controlled office setting

● Must have the physical ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, bend, kneel and uses hands, arms and legs for dexterity and balance on a frequent basis

● Occasionally lifts, carries and balances objects weighing up to 30 pounds

● Pulls and pushes such objects as file drawers, computers and similar office equipment and supplies

● Prioritizes and multi-tasks work and projects requiring good memory, concentration and analytical thinking

● Recognize and abate safety hazards within the workplace

● Must be able to hear, see including distinction of colors, read and communicate verbally and in writing frequently with a wide range of people from divergent socio-economic backgrounds and origins

Pay Rate: $75,000
