Service Desk (Office Assistant) assist the full-time Service Desk staff in the daily operation of the Service Desk. The Service Desk Office Assistant works under the supervision of the Process Control Manager and performs a variety of clerical tasks, general operational services for Campus Operations staff, technicians, contractors, faculty, students, visitors, and a variety of other tasks. Service Desk Office Assistants may be asked to work a block of hours to accommodate the coverage needs of the Service Desk.

- Reception & Communication: Serve as Service Desk receptionist, greet contractors, staff, and visitors, answer phone calls (land/cell), screen calls, take detailed messages, review emails, and respond to general questions regarding Campus Operations
- Work Order Management: Distribute and log key requests, assign work orders in TMA, and report problems or repair requests related to contractors, equipment, parts, and materials
- Documentation: Complete Help Desk Log daily for each shift, maintain and update key paper records and paperwork, and log all work, tasks, assignments, and projects in Service Desk Log on SharePoint
- Emergency Preparedness: Know and understand campus emergency systems, procedures, and policies; understand elevation system and when to contact a supervisor
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general clerical, safety, and operational tasks while maintaining a clean working environment visible to the public at all times
- Administrative: Attend scheduled Help Desk meetings and perform other related duties as assigned by Help Desk associates
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs
- Willing and able to follow directions and work independently
- Maintain valid driver's license and be insurable by BGSU
- Familiar with MS Office programs, including Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must be attentive to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of business office operations and customer service expectations
- Applicants need to work over the summer. Start date is March 2nd, 2026.
