Job Title: Event Sous Chef

Pay Rate: $26–$28 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role: The Event Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for events. This role ensures flawless execution, menu consistency, and high-quality food presentation. As a leader within our culinary team, you will foster a culture aligned with the City Street Investors brand and create memorable guest experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Facilitation & Execution

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Event Manager to plan and execute upcoming events.
• Train and guide cooks in preparation and setup prior to events.
• Execute full menus during high-volume services, maintaining company standards for presentation and quality.
• Lead all back-of-house operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
• Communicate operational needs to the Event Coordinator when necessary.

Development & Coordination

• Ensure compliance with cleanliness and food safety standards for all BOH staff.
• Stay informed on culinary trends and dietary needs; contribute creative menu ideas for events and special occasions.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate timely repairs.
• Demonstrate flexibility for dynamic event schedules, including nights and weekends.
• Support team development through mentorship and positive leadership.

Administration & Recordkeeping

• Manage food inventory, ordering, waste control, and cost efficiency.
• Assist with staff onboarding, interviewing, and maintaining employment records.
• Keep recipe books, ordering guides, and training materials accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in high-volume culinary environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing event schedules and client needs.
• Full-time availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays
