Position Summary:

The Youth Programming Coordinator is a temporary, full-time position that supports year-round youth programming with a seasonal focus. From February through May of 2026, this role oversees the before- and after-school care program while assisting with Summer Camp preparation, including registrations, parent communication, and seasonal hiring. From June through August, the Youth Programming Coordinator transitions to fully support Summer Camp operations as a key member of the programming staff. This role plays a critical leadership and support function by directly overseeing the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, serving as a resource to instructors and counselors, supporting camper behavior management, attending off-site field trips, and maintaining strong communication with families to ensure a positive camp experience.

Reports to: Shared oversight by the Head of School, and Director of Finance and Operations

Work Schedule

  • Febuary–May 2026: 9:00 - 5:00pm, and after school programming until 6:00pm, as needed
  • June–August 2026: 8:00 - 4:00pm, Mon - Fri when camp is in session

Responsibilities:

February – May 2026 (School-Year Programming & Summer Camp Preparation)

  • Oversee daily operations of the before- and after-school care program, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students
  • Supervise and support school-year program staff, providing guidance, processing payroll and coverage as needed
  • Assist with Summer Camp planning and preparation, including:
  • Managing camp registrations and enrollment support
  • Communicating with parents and caregivers regarding camp logistics and expectationsSupporting seasonal hiring efforts, including outreach, interviews, and onboarding coordination
  • Collaborate with school leadership to ensure smooth transition from school-year programming to summer operations

June – August 2026 (Summer Camp Programming)

  • Serve as a core member of the Summer Camp programming staff
  • Directly oversee the Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program, including:
  • Supporting CIT development and leadership skills
  • Providing mentorship, feedback, and daily guidance
  • Act as a resource for camp instructors and counselors, offering support, problem-solving, and coverage when needed
  • Step in to support camper behavior management, ensuring consistent expectations and positive guidance strategies
  • Attend all off-campus field trips to provide supervision, leadership, and logistical support
  • Engage with families to ensure clear communication, address concerns, and promote a welcoming and supportive camp community
  • Assist with daily camp operations to ensure programming runs smoothly and safely

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth in educational, recreational, or camp settings
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with behavior management and positive youth development practices
  • Ability to attend all scheduled field trips and work a flexible schedule, including extended summer hours
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Organized, reliable, and proactive
  • Comfortable providing guidance and feedback to staff and youth
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Passion for youth development and community engagement

Compensation Package:

Salary range of $25 - $30 per hour, with a Competitive Benefits Package
