Job Description

Shepherd Highlands Station Rotorua. We are looking for an honest and conscientious person who is passionate about sheep and cattle farming to join our friendly team here on Highlands Station. Highlands Station is a well-developed, intensive sheep breeding, bull beef operation. The property is 920 ha of gentle to steep hill-country, well set up with good access, facilities and resources. We finish a portion of our lambs to the works and the balance store; our bulls are all off to the works at 18 months. The successful applicant will be part of a team of 5 and will have responsibility for part of the farm and stock, depending upon experience. This is an opportunity to gain experience as part of a top farm team and business. The qualities we are looking for in an applicant are: • Good communication skills and a sense of humour • Honesty, reliability, and self-motivated • The ability to work well as part of a team, and also independently • Two or more years’ experience on sheep and cattle farms, with the usual range of farm skills • A team of two to four controlled dogs • Permanent New Zealand Residency.
