Job Description
Supports assigned departments' and audiences' Epic training needs by delivering Epic instructor-led courses and written materials. May perform quality checks or testing of e-learning lessons. Provides one-to-one training and system support as requested by end users and/or in response to help desk tickets. Works with Epic Trainers to deliver agreed upon solutions to training issues or concerns, and provides support as needed for new content and application go-lives.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Designs, maintains and delivers instructor-led training, e-learning lessons, printed materials, videos and other deliverables for assigned departments and audiences.
  • Coordinates small teams of IM personnel for team process and/or curriculum improvements.
  • Develops content and/or teaches workshops or in-service offerings for customers and peers.
  • Mentors staff in understanding workflows and system functionality to support workflows.
  • Regularly meets with management team of core areas to assess current and future training needs and to evaluate whether current training offerings are meeting the areas’ needs.
  • Cross-trains and provides backup instructor coverage for related application training classes.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Responds to ad-hoc requests for Epic training deliverable development.
  • Incorporates adult learning principles and instructional design best practices into training delivery.
  • Contributes to development and maintenance of e-learning scripts and lessons for Epic applications as needed.
  • Coordinates activities of assigned projects or particular phases of a given project. Develops and creates detailed work plans, timelines and other appropriate documentation, identifies appropriate resources needed and provides timely status reports.
  • Completes project scoping, planning and management for Epic training team projects.
  • Serves as an Epic and adult-education subject matter expert to all teams within IM and across the organization.
  • Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers and others.
  • Other job functions as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Associates Degree with training experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years progressive experience in classroom teaching or corporate training environments. Epic training experience preferred.
  • Expert skills in MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint required. Experience with page layout software (such as MS Pagemaker, MS Publisher, etc.) a plus.
  • Knowledge of adult education techniques required.
  • Previous experience working with e-learning tools such as Adobe Captivate, Flash, Flex or Articulate Presenter preferred.
  • Previous experience working with learning management systems preferred.
  • Current Epic certification required.
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate facts and ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills. Ability to prepare documentation to support established objectives consistent with generally recognized standards.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality relating to employee/patient and hospital.

$83,200.00-$137,280.00 Salary

The pay range for this job indicates minimum and maximum targets for the position. Ranges are regularly reviewed to stay aligned with market conditions.
