Factory Operations & Production Coordinator

Full Time • Monday–Friday

Location: North River, NY

Saratoga Chocolate Co. is a fast-growing artisan chocolate company with a bustling

retail café in Saratoga Springs and a production facility in North River. We are seeking a

reliable, organized, and hands-on Factory Operations & Production Coordinator to

provide daily oversight at our North River facility and help keep our retail, wholesale and

production operations coordinated and running smoothly throughout the year.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of responsibility, problem solving,

teamwork, physical work, and administrative tasks. If you’re dependable, detail-oriented,

comfortable with basic computer systems, and enjoy keeping a small team running

efficiently, this could be a wonderful fit.

Position Overview

The Factory Operations & Production Coordinator provides on-site direction five days

per week, plans and coordinates daily workflow, maintains inventory and ordering

systems, supports production and packaging tasks, and serves as the communication

link between our factory and our Saratoga Springs shop.

This is a working coordinator role—part task leadership and part hands-on production or

packaging support. This is not a culinary role.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Factory Tasks

  • Lead a brief daily production huddle to review priorities and assign tasks
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, productive work environment
  • Support team members and assist in training new staff, and establishing performance

benchmarks

Production & Packaging Support

  • Assist with packaging chocolate bars, truffles, cocoa mixes, and seasonal products
  • Support chocolate and caramel production processes as needed (training provided)
  • Help ensure quality control standards and performance benchmarks are consistently

met

Inventory & Ordering

  • Track inventory of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods
  • Monitor fast-moving items and proactively reorder supplies maintaining minimum

inventory to ensure smooth workflow at all times

  • Maintain organized storage systems and clear documentation

Holiday & Seasonal Planning

  • Coordinate production needs ahead of busy holidays and seasonal peaks
  • Anticipate shop needs and ensure product availability ahead of demand
  • Collaborate closely with management on special orders and timelines

Workflow & Schedule Planning

  • Create weekly production plans based on shop needs, wholesale orders, and

inventory levels

  • Redirect or adjust workflow as needed based on staffing, equipment, or order volume
  • Understand how changes in one area affect the broader production process

Communication & Administration

  • Serve as the daily communication point between the factory and the Saratoga Springs

shop

  • Print labels and production documents; maintain electronic files and shared drive and

spreadsheets

  • Provide daily updates and a weekly summary of production, inventory, and any issues
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs, cleaning logs, and SOP documentation

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Reliable, steady, and comfortable leading and working with small teams
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Experienced in manufacturing, food production, or similar structured environments

(preferred)

  • Comfortable using computers, email, shared drives, and basic programs or

spreadsheets

  • Able to perform physical tasks including packaging, lifting up to 45 lbs, and standing

for periods of time

  • Strong at communication, especially in a small-team environment

adaptable, flexible, creative problem-solver

  • Interested in a long-term position with year-round stability and opportunity for growth

Experience in supervisory roles, production coordination, or operations is a plus, but we

are willing to train the right candidate.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 25-30h/week, Monday–Friday (daytime hours)
