Job Title: Cost Accountant
Location: On-site | Akron, OH
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Salary: $100,000 – $110,000, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities (Cost Accountant):

Review manufacturing and operational costs to determine product pricing and evaluate profitability
Create, manage, and enhance cost accounting systems and internal procedures for efficiency
Generate cost reports, margin analyses, and variance reports to assist management in decision-making
Track inventory costs, perform regular audits, and ensure reconciliations are completed on schedule
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans
Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with company policies regarding cost accounting
Partner with operations, procurement, and production teams to identify key cost drivers
Assess standard costs and recommend updates based on operational and market shifts
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including cost-related journal entries
Identify cost-saving initiatives and recommend process improvements across manufacturing processes

Qualifications (Cost Accountant):

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing or industrial settings
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and inventory valuation
Proficient in accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, as well as advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP systems and cost modeling tools
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and other efficiency-improvement methodologies
Able to clearly communicate complex financial data to both financial and non-financial team members
