In this role, you'll be a contributor to RWE Clean Energy's BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Project & Technology Optimization Engineering Team. This innovative group drives the success of our utility-scale energy storage initiatives by designing energy storage projects that are not only cost-competitive, but also meet the highest standards of reliability, quality, and safety across all RWECE BESS developments.
Throughout the internship, you'll have the opportunity to:
Asist in the development of energy storage system designs
Support project execution and optimization efforts
Work cross-functionally with experts across the clean energy ecosystem

Role Responsibilities:
Learn to develop and design energy storage projects
Execute fundamental design tasks using AutoCAD to create site layouts
Acquire knowledge of and adhere to relevant standards and design codes
Assist in equipment sizing and specification
Conduct research and report finding on emerging technologies
Gain exposure to various aspects of the business, including but not limited to development, project design. system optimization, technology scouting, and project management
Participate in occasional on-site visits to assist with projects execution
Job Requirements and Experiences:
Enrolled in an accredited US university program, pursuing a degree in electrical engineering or related field
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel
Ability to communicate and work effectively with various project teams
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Pay range: The hourly base salary range for this position in Illinois is $25.00 - $35.00 an hour for undergraduates, and $30.00 - $40.00 for graduates. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
