Forward Deployed Engineer

Forward-Deployed Engineers will partner with our customers to understand their problems and engineer ML solutions using Basetens open-source Truss system. Develop and maintain software systems using one or more general-purpose programming languages in a production-level environment, with a preference for Python due to its relevance in ML projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement AI/ML pipelines, including the lifecycle of ML model development and deployment. Communicate effectively on complex technical topics, ensuring clarity and understanding across different stakeholders. Optimize and enhance AI/ML projects, contributing to the continuous improvement of our technical stack. Own products and projects end-to-end, functioning as both an engineer and a project manager, with a focus on user empathy, project specification, and end-to-end execution. Navigate ambiguity and exercise good judgment on tradeoffs and tools needed to solve problems, avoiding unnecessary complexity. This position requires a U.S. Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field and Four (4) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate software-development experience. The salary range for this position is $210,000 - $260,000/year. For all positions compensation varies depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
