Johnson and Johnson’s novel Nipocalimab therapy is an investigative treatment that has the potential to transform treatment of a number of autoantibody and alloantibody diseases by targeting FcRn leading to the degradation of pathogenic IgG. This groundbreaker asset requires a high level of professional engagement to raise disease awareness of the unmet need across 10+ indications, most of which are rare diseases.

The Neuroimmunology Field Director, Autoantibody TA will lead the East Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team to execute US medical affairs educational and scientific activities, driving results and execution of launch of Nipocalimab in gMG in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training and management of the East region Autoantibody Neuroimmunology MSL team including:
    • Strengthening and building JNJ’s external footprint across the neuromuscular space with a focus on the gMG launch of Nipocalimab
    • Ensuring that the team functions according to the Medical Affairs plan and company directives
    • Conducts routine team field visits and 1:1 meetings providing observation and coaching
    • Conducts performance coaching and feedback discussions
    • Provides oversight responsibility for team’s training and development
    • Ensures team optimal capacity, field activity level, and field metrics
    • Successfully collaborate with headquarters
    • Ensures each MSL territory plan is strategic, up to date and actionable.
    • Manages the team through special projects and cross functional support activities
    • Collaborates and aligns with the West Field Director for consistent execution of field medical plans across the US
  • The Field Director is responsible for the recruitment and retention of top talent and will actively implement leadership strategies to inspire and motivate their team members
    • Provide career and succession planning in support of staff reaching their highest potential
    • Provide an optimal working environment by promoting/functioning according to Credo values, communication of a clear direction, active listening, respecting diversity, encouraging collaborative partnership, empowering direct reports, follow up on commitments, promoting innovation, and rewarding high performance
    • Responsible for timely completion of administrative duties. Examples include assessment and approval of expense reports, preparation and communication of team metric reports, among others.
    • Co-lead the communication of MSL team achievement updates to appropriate internal partners and levels of management

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of thriving in complexity and ambiguity, with experience in collaboration with key business partners in rare diseases/immunology in a complex matrixed organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of a graduate medical/scientific degree required, i.e. PhD, PharmD, NP, MD, DO
  • Minimum of 8 years’ healthcare/pharma experience with a minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Field Director required
  • Experience launching and supporting neurology therapeutics as a Field Director required
  • Ability to travel up to 60% (including overnight travel)
  • Ability to maintain an office in the home and live in in close proximity to an airport.
  • Must be available to attend national scientific congresses and key strategic/scientific meetings across the US, and at the corporate office in Horsham, PA.

Preferred:

  • Immunology AND neurology experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Rare Diseases in a clinical or pharma setting
  • Experience with launching neurological therapies that are third to market within class
  • Experience with B cell, complement or FcRn therapies

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$164,000.00 - $282,900.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
