Embedded Software Engineer – (Wilmington, NC)

Our client is an IATF‑16949/ISO 14001 certified manufacturer specializing in electronic automotive and marine controls, multi‑function display systems, and LED lighting products. The company provides mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software solutions with full in‑house design, manufacturing, validation, and distribution capabilities.

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an onsite Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop new software (primarily in C/C++) and support enhancements to existing embedded architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new embedded software in C and C++.
  • Add features to and maintain existing embedded software architectures.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on new target platforms.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface issues.
  • Develop applications for 8/16/32‑bit embedded systems within defined standards and processes.
  • Perform debugging using software debuggers and in‑circuit emulators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in embedded software design and development.
  • Strong programming/debugging experience with

embedded systems in C/C++.

  • Experience using debugging tools and in‑circuit microprocessor emulators.
  • Ability to follow engineering processes and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work effectively in team environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $79.00/hr.
