Job Description

Position Summary

Under general supervision, transports, inspects, and schedules repairs for commercial custodial equipment. Performs minor general maintenance on facilities and grounds, including work involving screens, windows, doors, hardware, chemical dispensers, shades, blinds, furniture, floor tile, and related building components.

Exhibits a high level of professionalism and communication with students, staff and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • Two years experience in general mechanical or electrical maintenance or other building facilities construction work.


Special Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet University’s Fleet Safety Program.


Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience operating, maintaining, and repairing commercial custodial equipment, including mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic meters, and related technology
  • Proven professionalism with effective communication skills and experience training or mentoring staff
  • Ability to safely operate various vehicles, manage inventories, and utilize software platforms for documentation
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, organized work environment and ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment
