Welder

Job Duties

We are hiring a full-time Welder for a steel fabrication shop in a production based role. The ideal candidate is responsible for applying general welding practices to fabricate or repair components using production welding equipment. Their work may include welding light-gauge material to produce jambs and panels, as well as heavy structural steel to produce beams, columns, mezzanines, stairways, and railings. They will also be responsible for reading and interpreting shop drawings or blueprints to ensure that correct dimensions and materials are used for the weldment, and ensuring it meets the specified tolerances.

Minimum Education Required

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience Required

• Experience with MIG Welding in a production environment

· Able to set end fixture parts to maximize labor efficiencies

· Excellent mechanical aptitude

• Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• AWS/ANS D1.1 certified or certifiable preferred
