McDonald Automotive is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to perform, support, and strengthen day-to-day accounting functions across the organization. This role focuses on operational excellence, consistency, and leadership within the Accounting Department, with particular emphasis on payables, receivables, and cash-related processes.

This position works in-person and partners closely with accounting leadership and dealership operations to support continued growth and evolving business needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Operations & Leadership
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight across accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Support and develop accounting team members through coaching, guidance, and process clarity
  • Promote consistency, accuracy, and accountability across accounting workflow

Payables & Receivables Oversight

  • Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and related controls
  • Support cash application, receipting, and receivables monitoring
  • Assist with resolving escalated vendor or customer account issues
  • Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and transactional controls are followed

Controls, Reconciliations & Close

  • Review reconciliations related to A/P, A/R, and cash accounts
  • Support month-end close activities to ensure reporting and compliance deadlines are met
  • Help maintain audit-ready documentation and internal controls Partnership & Improvement
  • Partner with Accounting and dealership leadership to support operational needs
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
  • Assist with special projects and process enhancements as needed

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with exposure to A/P, A/R, and cash operations
  • Prior leadership or team oversight experience• Automotive dealership accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in high-volume and multi-entity environments

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounting operations and controls
  • Tekion, CDK, or other DMS experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Professional communication and sound judgment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to review and validate others’ work
