Software Engineer - IT/OT

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking an IT/OT Software Engineer to participate as a key member of the Application team, helping support 15-20 internal applications. This role develops and supports software solutions that improve plant operations by building integrations, monitoring tools, and data applications across cloud and edge environments. Each day involves working with plant teams to understand needs, designing secure and scalable architectures, and delivering full stack solutions from concept through deployment. The engineer collaborates with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, responds to incidents, supports on call rotations, and occasionally visits plants to ensure smooth integration into real world workflows.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience with .NET or other OOP languages

• Experience working in a variety of databases

• Experience with data collections using docker or Kubernetes

• Software deployments through with AWS OR on premise software deployments through with Windows and Linux based hosts

o Supporting network systems (firewalls, TCP fundamentals)

• Design and Architecture of custom-built applications

• Experience working with customers, reaching out, gathering requirements, etc - Experience working with vendor collaboration or management

• Experience with OPC UA, MQTT

• Experience with AVEVA PI service software and application developments
