Job Title: Mechanical Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Operator to join our team, responsible for operating and maintaining packaging and processing equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The role offers an opportunity to work on a variety of machines including cutter, press, and packaging machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packaging, cutter, and press machines, ensuring efficient production throughout the batch process.
• Perform changeovers and demonstrate mechanical aptitude for resetting equipment.
• Assist maintenance technicians by taking apart and reassembling equipment as needed.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adhere to safety regulations.
• Notify warehouse or supervisor of any missing raw materials required for batch completion.
• Package approved batches and properly label all finished product containers.
• Stock supplies and label raw material containers as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and ensure it's in proper working condition.
• Clean, sanitize, and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment.
• Complete end-of-day procedures including restocking raw materials, housekeeping, and waste documentation.
• Train new operators and perform other work-related duties as assigned.
• Observe all safety rules and procedures, including lock-out tag-out procedures.
  
  

• Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably with GMP standards.
• Proficiency in operating high-speed packaging, filling, capping, labeling, cutting, and pressing machines.
• Mechanical aptitude, particularly with changeovers and equipment set-up.
• Ability to follow safety and manufacturing guidelines.
  
  

• Experience with heat exchangers and vacuum pumps is beneficial.

Work Environment

Work in a temperature-controlled, smaller plant within a general manufacturing environment. The role requires being on your feet throughout the shift, ensuring an active and engaging workday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MEMPHIS, TN.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.13 - $19.13/hr.
