Assistant Teaching Professor of Computer Science

Position Description: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at New Mexico Tech invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position to start in the fall semester of 2026. Successful candidates are expected to: (1) have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (CS) or a closely related field by the time of appointment; (2) teach undergraduate (e.g., introductory, upper-division, service courses) and graduate courses in CS and related fields (e.g., Information Technology, Cybersecurity); (3) serve as an academic advisor for undergraduate students; (4) contribute to the college's and institution's efforts in supporting student academic success while engaging and encouraging students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; and (5) assisting in department and university activities that include assessment and accreditation and other service activities in the profession and community.

Department Description: New Mexico Tech is a public 4-year technical university that is also a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). The Department of CSE houses undergraduate and graduate degrees (M.S. and Ph.D.) in CS, with faculty contributing to transdisciplinary graduate programs (M.S. and Ph.D.) in Cybersecurity, as well as undergraduate degrees in Information Technology and Engineering Management.
