Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma. At least 60 undergraduate credit hours completed by the end of the Spring 2026. Valid driver license. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.
Position Description:The temporary part-time summer-only position supports TRIO Upward Bound and TRIO Talent Search at the University of Louisville. The expected start date is late May with applicant review occurring in February through late March each year. Classes run Monday - Friday tentatively June 1, 2026 - July 2, 2026. Candidates may be considered for one of the three programs:
- Upward Bound I
- Upward Bound II
Instructors report directly to the Program Director
Essential Duties & Requirements:- Develop and deliver curriculum for high school participants enrolled in a six-week educational summer program
- Create lesson plans aligned with students upcoming academic year and focused on strengthening study skills
- Serve as a positive role model and motivate students toward college enrollment and academic confidence
- Assess student learning needs and adapt instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with residence hall staff to support students' academic development
- Maintain accurate attendance, weekly progress reports, and final grade submissions
- Provide or arrange necessary instructional materials (e.g., textbooks, readers, instructional aids).
- Submit daily homework assignments and any missing work to the Program Director
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- 2 Specialty Areas (Engineering, Astronomy, Study Skills, Music Theory, Financial Literacy, Public Speaking, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree or graduate course work
- Experience working with high school students
- Subject area teaching experience.
- Prior involvement Federal TRIO Programs, (e.g., Upward Bound I & II & Talent Search,).
