Part-Time Assistant Preschool Teacher

Hyde Park Community UMC Preschool, a non-profit, play-based preschool program, is searching for a part-time Assistant Teacher for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year and beyond.

• Assistant Teacher - ages 3-5, Monday-Friday- 18.75 hours per week
• The workday is roughly 8:15 AM - Noon
• Part-time hours
• Start date is immediate

HPCUMC Preschool has strong beliefs and philosophies regarding child-led, play-based curriculum and empathic, respectful interactions with young children. We are looking for an assistant preschool teacher who embodies these same beliefs and will treat our preschoolers with the respect and love that they deserve.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences for children
• On-going observing and assessing individual children and their needs
• Following all state licensing regulations at all times
• Participating in on-going staff training and professional development
• Developing mutually trusting relationships with families through daily communication and annual parent teacher conferences

Candidates must have experience working in an early childhood classroom with a play-based curriculum. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required. Salary is based on education and experience.
