Truck driver

Metro Civil & Development Ltd is an Auckland based Company; specialising in a wide range of earthmoving, asphalt cartage works. We have 1 position available for a Truck Driver in Auckland; full time permanent job Monday to Saturday flexible hours, guaranteed 30 hours of work per week. 40 to 50 hours of work per week during busy periods. Pay Range $30 - $35 per hour depending on work experience. Job Prerequisites The suitable candidate must have minimum 1year proven experience in truck driving and clean class 4 or 5 licence. * Load/Unload so operating machines / excavator WTR required. * Experienced in confined spaces, so skilled backing a necessity. * Need to be flexible with hours as necessary, to be available at nights if required. * Good attitude. * Good experience of road ranger gear box operation. Job Description - Drive a tipper truck and trailer for loading and unloading. - Basic experience in operating machines/excavators to load trucks by themselves. - Able to do machine transporting, loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices. - Perform mechanical works when needed; basic mechanical knowledge required. - Being able to work in a confined space with excavator operators. - Being able to fill in the job sheets and timesheets on a daily basis. - Ensure compliance with NZ driving/operating rules and health & safety rules are complied with at all times. - Taking responsibility of securing the loads to prevent loss and damages, verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries, ensuring safe distribution of weight. - Wash, clean and grease your trucks on a weekly basis, making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely. - Punctual, clean and tidy appearance at the site; good customer service skills, act in a cautious and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers. - Drug Test is Required.
